About the artwork
UNTITLED FLOWER ABSTRACTION
Untitled Flower Abstraction develops from JChadima’s close observation of the flower as a complex arrangement of organic structures. Rather than approaching the botanical subject as a conventional floral image, the artist moves into an intimate field of petals, openings, curves, and intervals of negative space, transforming the flower into an exploration of symmetry, colour, rhythm, and visual architecture.
The composition is organized around a strong central axis, with broad white petals establishing a sense of balance and spatial expansion. Within this structure, luminous yellow-green forms draw the eye inward toward the darker centre, while a vivid red-orange element rises vertically through the composition, introducing warmth and a contrasting sense of movement. Cooler blues and greens provide a counterpoint, creating a shifting relationship between colour, depth, and form.
As in JChadima’s wider practice, observation becomes transformation. The recognizable flower remains the foundation of the work, but its literal identity gradually gives way to a more essential visual language—simplified shapes, curved lines, colour relationships, light, shadow, and negative space. The botanical subject becomes almost architectural, revealing an underlying geometry that is easily overlooked when the flower is viewed only as a familiar natural object.
The tension between symmetry and movement gives the painting its particular visual energy. The central structure provides stability, while the surrounding forms appear to expand, converge, and fold into one another. Colour becomes an active compositional element rather than simply a description of the flower, guiding the eye through the painting and creating a heightened sense of spatial perception.
Untitled Flower Abstraction reflects JChadima’s continuing fascination with discovering the unexpected within nature through close observation and abstraction. By bringing the viewer into the intimate interior of the flower, the work transforms a familiar botanical form into a visual meditation on structure, perception, colour, and the hidden geometry of the natural world.
“Within the flower lies an architecture of colour, form, and movement.”

Interview by Karen Marin, Independent Editor Consulting Advisor for Essenencional and friend of the artist (Second part in French).
JChadima is an American painter and photographer living in Paris.
He developed his skills and creativity from a very young age: JChadima has been exhibiting and selling his work for a long time in the United States.
Born in the USA, JChadima studied and graduated from the University of Colorado. His unique style and creative vision were nurtured and built upon a solid foundation by some of the most influential American artists of the early to mid-century, and some of their former students. Some of his teachers were students of artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe first, but also Alfred Stieglitz and Ansel Adams. They were directly involved and influential in JChadima's artistic roots.
Using her expertise in photography, JChadima developed the ability to observe details and draw inspiration from the world around her.
Whether directly from nature or still life, from current urban and environmental or historical influences, the bases of his paintings come directly from the impressions he draws from his photography.
A process of abstraction occurs by seeing beyond images and analyzing line, shape, shapes, colors and textures.
This work produces a highly stylized, graphic and colorful palette, and his works come to life...
