About the artwork
SPRINGTIME IN PARIS 16
In Springtime in Paris 16, JChadima transforms the delicate architecture of a flower into a lyrical study of light, movement, and renewal. Enlarged beyond its familiar scale, the bloom becomes an intimate landscape—its petals unfolding in graceful layers of luminous white, soft gray, and fresh spring green.
Subtle transitions of colour and shadow give the composition a quiet sense of movement. Forms emerge, overlap, and recede, creating a gentle rhythm that draws the eye toward the painting’s center before allowing it to wander through the sweeping curves of the petals. The vibrant yellow-green passages seem to glow from within, suggesting the first warmth and new growth of spring.
By removing the flower from its conventional context and focusing closely on its essential shapes, JChadima invites the viewer to experience something ordinarily overlooked in a new and contemplative way. The subject moves between representation and abstraction, becoming less a portrait of a particular flower than an exploration of organic form, colour, and atmosphere.
Part of the Springtime in Paris series, Springtime in Paris 16 reflects JChadima’s continuing desire to quiet the visual noise of the outside world and reconnect the viewer with the understated beauty found in nature. The painting offers a moment of stillness—a celebration of simplicity, renewal, and the quiet magic revealed when we take the time to truly see.

Interview by Karen Marin, Independent Editor Consulting Advisor for Essenencional and friend of the artist (Second part in French).
JChadima is an American painter and photographer living in Paris.
He developed his skills and creativity from a very young age: JChadima has been exhibiting and selling his work for a long time in the United States.
Born in the USA, JChadima studied and graduated from the University of Colorado. His unique style and creative vision were nurtured and built upon a solid foundation by some of the most influential American artists of the early to mid-century, and some of their former students. Some of his teachers were students of artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe first, but also Alfred Stieglitz and Ansel Adams. They were directly involved and influential in JChadima's artistic roots.
Using her expertise in photography, JChadima developed the ability to observe details and draw inspiration from the world around her.
Whether directly from nature or still life, from current urban and environmental or historical influences, the bases of his paintings come directly from the impressions he draws from his photography.
A process of abstraction occurs by seeing beyond images and analyzing line, shape, shapes, colors and textures.
This work produces a highly stylized, graphic and colorful palette, and his works come to life...
