About the artwork
PERYLENE RED 2
Perylene Red 2 continues JChadima’s Perylene Series, an ongoing exploration of color, organic form, spatial depth, and the sensual rhythms found within nature. Here, the intensity of perylene red becomes both subject and structure, enveloping the composition in subtle chromatic and tonal variations within the perylene red itself.
The painting is organized through a succession of sweeping, concentric forms that fold inward upon themselves. Broad arcs encircle more intimate interior shapes, producing a continuous rhythm of expansion and contraction. Gradations of red define these overlapping planes, allowing color itself to create volume, shadow, and depth. A narrow passage of white interrupts the otherwise saturated surface, functioning as a moment of illumination and sharpening the perception of the surrounding forms.
There is a pronounced sensuality to the composition. Its curving, enveloping structures suggest associations with petals, unfolding botanical forms, and the contours of the body without resolving into any single identifiable subject. This ambiguity is central to the work: JChadima allows abstraction to remain connected to nature while freeing form from literal representation. The viewer is invited to move visually through the painting, from its expansive outer curves toward its increasingly intimate center.
As a continuation of the Perylene Series, Perylene Red 2 further investigates the expressive possibilities of a concentrated, limited palette. Through subtle tonal variation within a single dominant hue, JChadima demonstrates how color can operate simultaneously as atmosphere, structure, and emotion.
Ultimately, Perylene Red 2 occupies a space between abstraction, nature, and sensual form. Its unfolding curves and saturated reds transform the canvas into an intimate visual experience, revealing how a restricted vocabulary of color and shape can evoke movement, depth, and quiet mystery.

Interview by Karen Marin, Independent Editor Consulting Advisor for Essenencional and friend of the artist (Second part in French).
JChadima is an American painter and photographer living in Paris.
He developed his skills and creativity from a very young age: JChadima has been exhibiting and selling his work for a long time in the United States.
Born in the USA, JChadima studied and graduated from the University of Colorado. His unique style and creative vision were nurtured and built upon a solid foundation by some of the most influential American artists of the early to mid-century, and some of their former students. Some of his teachers were students of artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe first, but also Alfred Stieglitz and Ansel Adams. They were directly involved and influential in JChadima's artistic roots.
Using her expertise in photography, JChadima developed the ability to observe details and draw inspiration from the world around her.
Whether directly from nature or still life, from current urban and environmental or historical influences, the bases of his paintings come directly from the impressions he draws from his photography.
A process of abstraction occurs by seeing beyond images and analyzing line, shape, shapes, colors and textures.
This work produces a highly stylized, graphic and colorful palette, and his works come to life...
