HORTENSIA

Hortensia originates in close observation of the flower, where the intimate scale of the composition allows its petals to become the primary language of the painting. Rather than presenting the hortensia as a conventional botanical study, JChadima focuses on the unfolding architecture of the bloom, transforming individual petals into a fluid arrangement of curves, overlapping surfaces, and shifting organic forms.

The composition is structured through a continuous movement of layered petals that expand, fold, and intersect across the canvas. Their sweeping contours create a strong sense of rhythm, while the overlapping forms establish depth and a subtle spatial tension. The viewer is drawn into the centre of the flower, where the petals appear to emerge and recede simultaneously, creating an almost sculptural sense of volume.
