About the artwork

With " Berlin," the artist draws us into a work that is both urban and poetic. Against a textured background reminiscent of city walls, an elegant woman stands out, poised between strength and fragility. Her gaze, turned towards the horizon, seems to seek a balance between two worlds—East and West, past and future.

The contrast between the cool tones of the background and the gold patterns of her outfit creates a magnetic presence. Every detail testifies to the care taken in the composition: textures, plays of light, and a subtle balance between realism and abstraction.

This contemporary work evokes the duality of large metropolises and the search for identity amidst the modern turmoil. A powerful painting that draws the eye and invites reflection.

A unique piece that will enhance a modern, designer or minimalist interior, while adding a touch of emotion and character.

About the artist Françoise Schmidt

Self-taught, I have been drawing and painting since childhood.
My background as a teacher of young children allows me to explore the visual arts in all its forms and complexities. With this young audience, I discovered the little pieces of paper that we throw away, store, collect, and recycle. I use these pieces of text, words, and images to construct colorful worlds imbued with lightness and poetry.

Like the mix of cultures, I love the blending of materials, tools, and techniques. I use acrylic paint, spray paint, smoothing compound, sand, stencils, stamps, and of course, paper.

My collection "Homage to the Women of the World" is the culmination of a long journey of discovery, plastic experimentation, my attraction to fashion and the creation of clothing.

I invite you to enter this universe and let yourself be carried away by your emotions and feelings.
