This composition centers on a young woman in traditional dress, reminiscent of a qipao richly adorned with floral motifs. Deep shades of red, pink, and purple dominate the work, symbolizing passion, culture, and timeless elegance. The paint drips and raw textures of the background evoke the world of street art, lending modernity and character to the piece. Ideal for a contemporary interior, a professional space, or an urban art collection, this painting is a striking piece that commands attention and tells a story of culture, femininity, and artistic fusion.

About the artist Françoise Schmidt

Self-taught, I have been drawing and painting since childhood.
My background as a teacher of young children allows me to explore the visual arts in all its forms and complexities. With this young audience, I discovered the little pieces of paper that we throw away, store, collect, and recycle. I use these pieces of text, words, and images to construct colorful worlds imbued with lightness and poetry.

Like the mix of cultures, I love the blending of materials, tools, and techniques. I use acrylic paint, spray paint, smoothing compound, sand, stencils, stamps, and of course, paper.

My collection "Homage to the Women of the World" is the culmination of a long journey of discovery, plastic experimentation, my attraction to fashion and the creation of clothing.

I invite you to enter this universe and let yourself be carried away by your emotions and feelings.
