3 reasons to break out of your routine with HWA at the Carrousel du Louvre
The metro, work, notifications, dinner eaten too quickly. In Paris, the days follow one another with almost perfect efficiency, and that is precisely what makes them so similar. We cross the city without always looking at it. We consume culture like everything else: quickly, between two appointments, with the impression of never quite having enough time.
And then, sometimes, something changes. A detour, a door discovered, a color glimpsed in the distance. You only need to slow down for a few minutes for your gaze to regain its freedom.
This is exactly what we would like to offer you this autumn.
A contemporary art exhibition in the heart of Paris
From October 23 to 25, 2026, Horizon World Art will be at Art Shopping, at the Carrousel du Louvre. Our online art gallery will be presenting a selection of artists from different backgrounds for three days of meetings and discoveries.
We do not want to make this exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre an event reserved for insiders. Art Shopping is an open event, designed so that everyone can approach the works, ask questions, hesitate, and return. It is a simpler and more direct way to experience contemporary art in Paris, without protocol or distance.
Here are 3 reasons to allow yourself this break.
Reason no. 1: because taking the time to look has become a luxury
How much time do we actually spend in front of an image? On a screen, a few seconds. In a crowded museum, sometimes barely more. We have become accustomed to seeing a lot, and looking at very little.
An art exhibition proposes the opposite. It invites you to stop in front of a canvas, to move closer to observe a texture, to step back to grasp the whole. A work does not always reveal itself at first glance. It requires a little patience, and that is what makes it precious.
There is nothing to "succeed at" in this moment. No right or wrong interpretation, no prior culture to prove. You can like a work without knowing why, be unsettled by another, or stand in front of a third for a long time without finding the words. All of this is part of the experience.
For many visitors, this simple slowing down is already a reward. For an hour, the rhythm changes. We walk differently, we listen differently, we let ourselves be surprised. This interlude resonates with ourselves afterwards, in the day that follows and sometimes long after.
Reason no. 2: because art is discovered through encounters
We all have our benchmarks: a few names heard at school, a few paintings seen a hundred times in reproduction. These references are precious, but they can also become a narrow horizon. Living art, however, is created today, in studios, between hands and stories that we do not yet know.
This is what we love to do at HWA: support contemporary artists and highlight emerging artists, whose worlds are sometimes very far apart from one another. Each brings their own way of seeing the world, their materials, their obsessions, their sensitivity. Visiting them is a bit like leafing through several lives in a row.
At an international contemporary art fair like Art Shopping, these worlds coexist in the same place. You can move from one atmosphere to another in a few steps, compare what speaks to you and what eludes you, and identify the work that holds your attention without knowing exactly why.
And since you won't be alone in front of the works, you can also exchange ideas. Ask a question about a technique, inquire about the origin of a series, understand what gave birth to an image. These conversations are often what turn a pleasant visit into a true memory.
Whether you are an enlightened amateur, a budding young collector, or simply curious, this is the opportunity to build your own perspective, at your own pace. Nobody needs to tell you what to like.
But behind this exhibition is also a vision of art and of how we support artists that we invite you to discover very soon.
Reason no. 3: because the Carrousel du Louvre is a setting that changes the visit
There are places that transform the way we experience an outing. The Carrousel du Louvre is one of them.
A few steps from the Tuileries, nestled against one of the greatest museums in the world, it offers a singular atmosphere: a contemporary space that sits right up against centuries of heritage. Upon arriving, we cross a Paris we think we know, but see a little differently, with our minds already turned toward discovery.
This proximity is not trivial. It says something about art itself: today's works dialogue with those of yesterday, and contemporary artists continue a conversation centuries old, with their own words. Moving from the historic Louvre to an exhibition of living artists means understanding that creation has never stopped.
It is also a wonderful way to organize an outing. A stroll in the Tuileries garden, a coffee, a visit to Art Shopping, then a wander without a specific goal. For Parisians as well as visitors passing through, it is a way to reclaim the city, without planning anything complicated.
And because the fair welcomes a diverse public, familiar with the art world or not, the atmosphere remains lively and expansive. People come alone, as a pair, or with friends, with a desire to be surprised.
So, what if you changed your pace for just a few hours?
Your routine won't be disrupted; it will simply be interrupted, for the duration of a visit, by colors, textures, and stories you hadn't planned on.
That is often how the most beautiful cultural memories begin: on a day when you decide, without much justification, to not do things as usual.
We will have the pleasure of welcoming you to our space, introducing you to the artists, and sharing with you what we love about contemporary art. No need to be a collector, an expert, or even to have a precise idea of what you are looking for. You just need to be curious.
