John Betti is an Italian figurative artist who lives and works in Fano, Italy. He describes his practice as a kind of Italian-style Expressionism, carrying a measure of humour and a measure of fantasy, and has been given the name Pictor Ironicus. His paintings have always told stories, most often love stories, and they are stories of people and of animals rather than landscapes or still lifes. He has exhibited in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In 2024 his association with TERAVARNA began, and his paintings have since been exhibited internationally online. In 2025 he was selected by TERAVARNA for Focus Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery in London, one of the most significant art fairs in the world, and in 2026 he takes part in the P.A.R.I.S. International Art Exhibition. He regards these opportunities as a great honour and a great pleasure.
