About the artist Cécile Dingé

Since I was young, I have always practiced drawing and painting. At the time, I was even noticed by my teachers and school principals who recognized in me a precocious artistic talent.

Essentially self-taught, I then turned to watercolor, charcoal, Indian ink, Japanese calligraphy, and I set about reproducing old paintings, notably using the oil painting technique. , which has since become my favorite medium. This approach which consisted substantially of reproduction, and therefore, of the simple imitation of past works without me being able, however, to develop my own pictorial approach, and without, moreover, being able – at the time at least – finding my own artistic path, led me to interrupt my plastic activity for more than ten years.

However, in recent years I have fully invested myself in art again: I took up oil painting again, and I followed an in-depth technical course with ART TOTALe; and this, in order to reconnect with my youthful passion, to recover both my former artistic level, and above all to explore new areas of pictorial expression. Shortly after, wishing to deepen my knowledge and skills, I also followed, with the same structure, a set of training courses focusing as much on pictorial techniques as on theoretical aspects, allowing me to better understand the underlying mechanics of artistic reception – particularly around the cognitive and neural processes of visual perception.

I then continued this journey by enrolling in nude classes at Atelier Saint Fargeau, which I continue to deepen today with Terre et Feu, through a diploma course to perfect my technique. of the nude, and in particular by seeking to depict the movement of bodies.

My artistic sensitivity now leads me to work on oil painting with an old medium (and more precisely: Flemish), in order to give more depth to my color palette, while paying particular attention to light as well as than contrasts. My paintings are illustrated by the development of an original, sensual and poetic visual narrative through very different pictorial styles (ranging from figurative to abstract, including cubism), which I strive to explore with keenness. completely personal.
