Muhammad Jamil

传

Muhammad Jamil is a New York-based self-taught contemporary artist who has been painting for over thirteen years. Working primarily in oil, his practice explores the boundaries between emotion and abstraction, forming a continuous dialogue between the visible and invisible forces that shape our inner lives. He is currently developing the Gravity of Lines series, in which he explores the forces that shape movement, matter and meaning through the language of line. His compositions emerge from thousands of intertwined strokes that gather, disperse and suspend themselves within fields of space, creating a delicate tension between chaos and order. Deeply influenced by the traditions of calligraphy, Jamil approaches line as both gesture and language, and his works resemble calligraphic writing while existing beyond any readable script. Viewers often sense that something is being written, yet the exact meaning remains open to interpretation. His work has been presented in New York exhibitions and international art events. In 2026 it was selected for FOCUS Art Fair New York through TERAVARNA and featured in Units of Expression in Long Island City, and his painting Nothing Exist Alone has been selected for the P.A.R.I.S. Art Exhibition 2026.
